I bought this book on a whim and we pulled it out one night at a dinner party we were having, there were about 10 of us there and it was so interesting listening to everyone's responses. Will Shortz Presents The Little Black Book of Sudoku: 400 Puzzles (Will Shortz Presents...)

This sturdy puzzle book is great. We have two of them in the house because neither of us can leave it alone for long. The spiral binding is a must- have. (I paper clipped the top of the spiral closed.) The pages are of substantial quality and are completely eraseable (although I don't recommend the eraser on your pencil - it smudges - a big pink eraser is best). The printed numbers are large and easy to read. The puzzles themselves are very challenging and interesting - I would recommend this book to anyone. This text is invaluable. As a Title 1 teacher, I use it frequently to target those specific deficit skills. No longer must I depend upon memory or a workbook to provide key words for targeted practice. As a classroom teacher, this text provides fabulous lists of words based upon skill-specific information. It aides the targeting of deficit areas, and is intuitive in its use. This text is a must have. I would spend much more time "inventing"(read here- trying to remember words that have the ____ sound) instead of simply listing words for target areas for intensive intervention. Time for Bed (Big Book Edition)

I purchased this book in store and therefore had no reviews to read beforehand. I had never heard of this book and quite honestly didn't think much by the cover other than the fact that is was a book about bedtime - which I didn't have yet. When I opened the book and started reading each page, I was instantly sold! The little rhymes for each different animal mom (or dad!) and baby is so incredibly sweet it just melted my heart on the spot. This book became a nightime ritual for me and my son for several months. He loved to see the animals and make each animal sound. He even liked to point out the stars and moon on some of the pages. Finally, the last two pages show a mommy tucking her little baby into bed (at which point I say, "see, how the baby is going to bed"), then followed by a page with the baby fast asleep. For those who have little ones with sleep issues, it is a good illustration to show another baby peacefully going to sleep. Like clockwork, my son would start rubbing his eyes. I have switched to Guess How Much I Love You right now but I plan to return to this poetically sweet and simple little bedtime treasure!Buy Time for Bed (Big Book Edition)!
