Clara Parkes is one of those people who inspire others. She puts out a weekly web magazine that reviews different yarns. She provides detailed explanations of how the yarn felt, how it knitted up, the pros and cons of using it and all this is provided for free to knitters.

This book is a gathering of some of her best ideas and recommendations about different yarns; what is best for certain projects or certain tastes. She tries to be objective and I respect her recommendations completely.

Pre-Reading Skills (My First Bob Books) (My First Bob Books)

I wanted to return this product because I have never liked BOB books, however, I put it in the back of my car and promptly forgot about it. I sold it. BOB books are portrayed as beginning reader books, but in my experience,(I am a preschool teacher) they are too small in size, too lengthy to hold a preschoolers attention (especially this package) and I've just not been overly fond of BOB books. I find more success with the Dolch word lists andPreschool Prep & Sight Words 7 DVD Pack (Meet the Letters, Meet the Numbers, Meet the Shapes, Meet the Colors, Meet the Sight Words 1, Meet the Sight Words 2, Meet the Sight Words 3). Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 7)

Disappointed also. I loved, loved, LOVED the first three books. But other than a part 1 of the romance of xhex and john mathew that will be continued in her next book this book did not have much romance or character building as related to the romance. I will buy her next book (paperback not hardback) to see how xhex and john mathew get together when he rescues her (very like the rescue of z and bella situation). I wish we could have seen some building of any relationship between poor ole Rehv. He had some backbone and menace to his character in the previous book. None of that is here. Here he is poor ole puppy that was a bad boy and does not deserve the girl. The girl also believes this and waits a "whole" month to decide the guy is worth saving and enlists his friends and family to help. Just way to unbelievable they would sit on their hands a month even for reasons writer gives them. What, no DNA on the skeleton in the fire? If that was my brother... Also if he's taking anti-venom of scorpion faithfully to avoid a reaction of scorpions with a one night stand once a month with his half sister then what the heck is he still alive after a month of constant stings without the anti-venom. Hey maybe he did not need anti-venom. What? It just does not make sense and some stuff like that is what makes me want to re-read her good books to forget all about this one. I had no idea a book with different babies' facial expressions would be so thrilling to my 13 month old twins. They can be running around like crazy, and when I bring this book out they run to me and sit in my lap calmly and look at the pages intently! Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book (Classic Seuss)

This book is easily the best one he ever wrote. The rhymes and rhythms are bouncy and fun, and they gently slow down as you go, so that by the time you're near the end, your heart beat has slowed and so has your breathing. It's designed to get kids ready to fall asleep, even if they start out filled with energy- but it's still got all the silly and zany imagination of all his other works. Some of my favorite of his creations are in this- the goose juice and moose juice, and several others that are hard to spell but easy to pronounce.

The Angel Experiment (Maximum Ride, Book 1)

Too much repetition in the dialog, and comic book like fantasy. It got better as it went along so I read number two and three.

A less well written "Twilight-type" fantasy series, mostly harmless for the young adult reader. I wouldn't be thrilled if my son read books like this exclusively, though I've read the first three books pretty quickly so there must be something to them. Hence the three stars. If it weren't so cold I'd call them good "beach books". Fluff with a lot of action and likable characters. The writing is just not demanding or enlightening in the quality of descriptions or the smoothness of the plots. I've read a lot of fantasy and some of them feel real. These plot turns and histories are awkward and artificial. Kind of like a comic book without pictures.

In sum. Easy to read, harmless, and mildly entertaining.

A much better series for young adult and adult fantasy is the Bartameus Trilogy. Deep Character traits that grow with each book. Buy The Angel Experiment (Maximum Ride, Book 1)!

The New Contented Little Baby Book: The Secret to Calm and Confident Parenting

This is an excellent book! I loved it. I don't recommend following it in the first 3-4 months of the baby's life... but for my firstborn, starting at 4 months, it really worked. She is a happy baby...and well rested. I wish I knew some of those things earlier, as in how long babies need to sleep!!

Weber's Big Book of Grilling

This book has everything a griller could need. The layout is easy to read and the pictures/illustrations are very helpful. There's several sections for beginners, from learning how many coals to use on a charcoal grill to how long to cook different vegetables, even charts that layout what part of a cow/chicken/etc. your cuts of meat come from. The recipes are great, and the section of recipes for marinades/rubs has a lot to choose from. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys grilling or is learning how.Buy Weber's Big Book of Grilling!
