Having read The Dangerous Book for Boys and having seen all the books emulating this formula, I was a little hesitant to give this one a try. I read an excerpt and it was pretty darned cute.
And that pretty much summarizes the book, pretty darned cute.
Always told from the perspective of the pooch, this book addresses stereotypical issues such as wearing stupid little costumes, relations with Mail Carriers, and different kinds of play.
It's a quick read so the joke doesn't get a chance to wear too thin. It seems to realize that it has to strike quickly and get out before the reader gets stale with the subject matter.
Just enough there to keep you interested and amused without dragging out and becoming a parody of itself. Given this approach I rate it a 4 out of 5 stars. The star deduction is due to the fact that there really isn't anything new here aside from the perpective.
